Emerging Europe: Georgian Politics Set for Shake Up as Former PM Launches New Party

Giorgi Gakharia at the Party Presentation

Giorgi Gakharia, the leader of the Party ‘For Georgia,’ published a post on his Facebook page inviting Tbilisi mayoral candidates Kakha Kaladze and Nikanor Melia to debate.

“Today, the Georgian Dream organization, obsessed with maintaining power, is becoming more and more like the ‘National Movement’ and thus takes us back to the past. Leaving them alone is dangerous for the future of the country. I invite Kakha Kaladze and Nikanor Melia to debate in any format,” Gakharia posted.

Giorgi Gakharia will be the Tbilisi mayoral candidate of the ‘For Georgia’ party.
