The average monthly expenditure of domestic visitors in the first quarter of 2026 stood at 273.6 million GEL, up 13% year-on-year, Geostat reports. Average spending per visit also increased by 7.4% to 172.7 GEL.
The statistics office says the average monthly number of domestic visitors reached almost 1.3 million, generating around 1.6 million visits to Georgia during the period.
The number of visitors rose by 2% compared to the same period last year, while total visits increased by 5%.
Tourist-type visits also grew, rising by 6.6% to 665,000 on average per month.
Regionally, most visits were recorded in Tbilisi, with an average of 415,000 visits, followed by Imereti with 322,400.
