Georgian PM: We’ll work as much as possible to get even closer to NATO

Today there is a difficult situation in this regard, however we will work as much as possible to get closer to the alliance and deepen the partnership between us, – Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists in Brussels.

The head of the government claimed that it is fundamentally important to deepen the partnership and everything will be done to make maximum progress in this regard.

“Of course the consultations will continue, I will say once again that it is fundamentally important for us to deepen the partnership and we will do everything to make maximum progress in this regard, the rest is a work process. At this stage, the situation is difficult, while the war in Ukraine continues, it is difficult in terms of integration. The situation is not ripe today for such decisions to be made, however, of course, we must look ahead and prepare everything so that in the end, when the appropriate conditions are prepared for this, we can make such a decision, a principled decision regarding full integration. Today, there is a difficult situation in this respect, however, I will repeat once again that we will work as hard as possible in order to get even closer to the alliance and to deepen the partnership between us,” the Prime Minister noted.
