The meeting of the Georgian parliamentary delegation with the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk and MPs ended in Ukraine.
The meeting focused on Georgian-Ukrainian relations and developments in Ukraine.
A delegation consisting of 9 deputies of the Parliament of Georgia, led by the Speaker of the Parliament Shalva Papuashvili, arrived in Kyiv today.
The parliamentary delegation includes: Beka Odisharia, a member of the majority, three vice-speakers: Davit Sergeenko, Archil Talakvadze and Levan Ioseliani, as well as MPs from different political groups: Vakhtang Megrelishvili, Ana Natsvlishvili, Khatuna Samnidze and Giorgi Khojevanishvili.
“I am confident that our meeting will contribute to the further strengthening of bilateral relations between Ukraine and Georgia, as our people expect,” said Ruslan Stefanchuk, Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament, after meeting with Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili.
The topic of discussion between the parties was the need to impose sanctions on the aggressor country, the future of European integration of Ukraine and Georgia, as well as possible assistance to Georgia in the process of reconstruction of Ukraine.
“I am glad to welcome the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Shalva Papuashvili, who arrived in Kyiv with a parliamentary delegation. I am confident that our meeting will contribute to the further strengthening of bilateral relations between Ukraine and Georgia, which our people expect. We discussed the need to impose sanctions on the aggressor country, the future of European integration of Ukraine and Georgia, as well as the possible assistance of Georgia in the process of reconstruction of Ukraine. I thank the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament for this visit, which is an expression of solidarity and support,” Stefanchuk said.
