Georgia to develop multi-functional sports complex in Surami

Georgia to develop multi-functional sports complex in Surami

Ministry of Infrastructure of Georgia announced stated that the municipal Development Fund of Georgia has launched the design phase of a new multi-functional complex in Surami, a town in the Khashuri Municipality.

A contract has already been signed with the winning company, with the project to be implemented in four phases, covering full design and planning works.

The project aims to create a modern area serving residents of Surami, Khashuri and nearby villages, addressing both sports and cultural-educational needs.

The planned complex will include:

  • Indoor sports facilities for judo, wrestling, boxing, MMA, gymnastics, fencing and table tennis
  • Fitness and training halls
  • Large and small swimming pools

In addition to sports infrastructure, the complex will feature a range of community-oriented facilities, including:

  • A media library
  • Choreography and arts studios
  • Folklore and foreign language learning spaces
  • A STEM club
  • A multifunctional event hall

Administrative and technical zones will also be integrated into the development.

The project also emphasizes the development of supporting infrastructure across the site, including:

  • Parking areas
  • Pedestrian pathways
  • Recreational and landscaped green zones
  • Outdoor lighting and security systems
  • water supply infrastructure
