Starting in 2026, teachers and aspiring educators in Georgia will be allowed to sit multiple certification exams within a single registration cycle, following a new decision by the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia.
Under the updated policy, candidates will be able to register for and take up to three subject exams simultaneously, replacing the previous limitation of a single subject per exam period. In addition, applicants will also have the option to sit exams for senior special teacher status and basic professional skills within the same timeframe.
The ministry stated that the reform is designed to strengthen subject-matter competence among teachers in a more systematic and flexible way. Officials say the change is expected to improve overall teaching standards.
Registration for the exams will be conducted online via the official portal of the National Assessment and Examinations Center. The registration window will open on April 20 at 10:00 and close on May 6 at 18:00.
The ministry has also clarified that candidates will not be permitted to select subjects with identical or substantially overlapping test content. This restriction includes cases where exam materials are translated into different languages but remain otherwise the same.
Applicants are encouraged to consult the official NAEC website for detailed guidelines and subject combinations before completing their registration.
