The Georgian Dream political council has announced that a new party chairperson will be elected at the upcoming congress on May 7.
The party also plans to renew the composition of its political council, with the new members to be confirmed during the same congress.
“A session of the Georgian Dream political council was held at the Gorgasali office, where two key issues were discussed,” the statement reads. “It was decided that the party congress would be held on May 7, during which a new chairperson will be elected. The council also approved the renewal of its composition, which will be formalized at the congress.”
This development follows the April 25 resignation of Irakli Garibashvili, the party’s former chair, who announced his exit from politics.
