GD nominates 11 senior officials of MIA for Order of Honor

GD nominates 11 senior officials of MIA for Order of Honor

Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced that 11 senior officials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will be nominated for the Order of Honor.

Irakli Kobakhidze noted at the briefing held today that those nominated for the Order of Honor include the Minister of Internal Affairs, his deputies, and heads of departments.

“We have made a decision to nominate the top officials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Order of Honor after the inauguration. We are talking about 11 officials. These are the Minister of Internal Affairs, Vice Prime Minister, Vakhtang Gomelauri, First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Shalva Bedoidze, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Aleksandre Darakhvelidze, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Giorgi Butkhuzi, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Ioseb Chelidze, Director of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Temur Kupatadze, Director of the Patrol Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Vazha Siradze, Director of the Tbilisi Police Department, Sulkhan Tamazashvili, Director of the Special Tasks Department, Zviad Kharazishvili, Deputy Directors of the same department, Mileri Lagazauri and Mirza Kerzevadze.

“After the inauguration of the President, all 11 of them will be presented with the Order of Honor,” Kobakhidze said.

Some of the above-mentioned senior officials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have been sanctioned by the United States and European Union countries for brutal crackdowns of peaceful pro-European demonstrations and violation of human rights.
