Amiran Gamkrelidze, head of the National Center for Disease Control, announced a new regulation on wearing face masks outdoors.
“There is a regulation that in open spaces, where 5-6 people gather together, we should all wear face masks. If the pandemic continues to worsen, the National Center for Disease Control will appeal the Coordination Council with a recommendation to further tighten regulations,” Gamkrelidze told reporters.
The obligation to use face masks in open space was lifted by the government on 22 June. Wearing a mask remained mandatory only in transport, indoors, at bus stops and in markets.
