Giga Bokeria, the leader of European Georgia, claims that Lazare Grigoriadis, who is accused of injuring police officers and destroying state property, is a victim of selective justice.
Bokeria attended the rally in front of the Governmental Chancellery in support of Grigoriadis.
“For me and my associates, if we put all the factors aside, the reason for indignation was the disgusting behavior that we saw from the propaganda of the Ivanishvili regime, from Kobakhidze and others, when they started a disgusting demonization campaign against this boy, who was sent to prison. They are talking about Satanism, alternative orientation. If anything can be called evil, it is this poison that they are sowing against this 21-year-old boy for their own political purposes. This was the decisive factor why this boy’s story became a matter of principle. Even if the evidence against this guy is verified and found to be real, there remains a huge question of selective justice, as for years we have seen regime-organized Putinist gangs committing violence everywhere with impunity. These two reasons are enough for this to be our principle issue to protest,” said Bokeria.
A solidarity rally was held near the Government Chancellery for Lazare Grigoriadis, who was arrested for his actions during the March 7-8 protests. “European Georgia” was the organizer of the rally, while the event was attended by other groups of society in addition to the supporters of the political party.
21-year-old Lazare Grigoriadis was arrested by the police on the night of March 29. He is being accused of violence against policemen during rallies held near the parliament against the “Russian law” and of setting fire to a car belonging to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
