The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly has adopted its 2025 report, titled “The Porto Declaration and Resolutions,” which includes several references to Georgia. While the final version is yet to be published on the official website, a draft of the report is already in circulation.
The document addresses Georgia from multiple angles, noting that the October 26, 2024 parliamentary elections were “marked by several irregularities,” according to the final report of the ODIHR election observation mission.
It further emphasizes the urgent need for the release of all political prisoners and the organization of new, free, and fair elections that genuinely reflect the will of the Georgian people.
“We welcome the activation of the OSCE Vienna Mechanism following the mass protests in Georgia after the October 26, 2024 elections,” the report states. “This mechanism plays a vital role in addressing concerns about human rights, democratic processes, and the rule of law. We call for continued dialogue and cooperation, with priority given to the immediate release of all political prisoners and the conduct of truly representative elections.”
