The European Union and Georgia will celebrate Europe Day on May 9 with an important public event at Expo Georgia in Tbilisi, showcasing more than three decades of cooperation and shared values.
The event opens at 12:00 in Pavilion 11 and will explore the impact of the EU–Georgia partnership through exhibitions, discussions, cultural programming, and interactive experiences.
“This year, we are not only reflecting on our shared history but also highlighting how EU support continues to shape everyday lives across Georgia,” organizers said in a statement. “From innovation and youth empowerment to rural development and democratic engagement, this partnership is visible in every region and community.”
Highlights of Europe Day 2025 include:
- Team Europe Pavilion (Pavilion 6): Meeting with representatives of EU Member States, discussions on the EU Monitoring Mission and the European Investment Bank’s role in Georgia’s development.
- EU Project Space (Pavilion 11): Display of EU-funded initiatives supporting education, employment, environmental sustainability, and social inclusion.
- EU Talk: #ERTAD (Pavilion 4): Public discussions with Georgian and European leaders on how EU values are shaping Georgia’s path forward.
- ’10 Years in Focus’ Photo Exhibition (Pavilion 3): A documentary photography showcase by EU Prize for Journalism winners, capturing a decade of transformation.
- Cultural & Culinary Programming: Interactive educational games, artisan showcases, cooking demonstrations and regional food tastings.
The event is open to all and encourages a deeper understanding of the EU’s role in Georgia’s development.
