On 5 April, with the support of the ‘EU4Youth: Youth Engagement and Empowerment’ project, the ‘Illuminator’ Youth Center launched its grant initiative: ‘Promoting Engagement and Unity of Akhmeta Youth for Community Resilience’.
The project kicked off with its first capacity-building workshop, gathering young people of diverse backgrounds from across Akhmeta Municipality. The session introduced participants to civic education, including topics on human rights, the role of active citizens, and participation mechanisms available to both youth and adults.
Throughout the workshop, the trainer used interactive techniques (role models and a learning-by-doing approach) to encourage teamwork and active participation.
The initiative aims to empower young people in Akhmeta through civic education and to improve access to educational and social opportunities, while also fostering cultural integration and collaboration between minority and majority communities in the Pankisi Valley.
The Illuminator Youth Center is a beneficiary of the grant program under the ‘EU4Youth: Youth Engagement and Empowerment’ initiative, co-financed by the European Union and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
