The International Judo Federation has published an updated world ranking following recent regional tournaments, bringing notable changes for Georgian judokas.
Georgia’s Eter Liparteliani has climbed to the top of the women’s -57 kg category after winning the European Championship, collecting 5,021 points and moving into first place.
In the men’s -60 kg category, European vice-champion Giorgi Sardalashvili is ranked 10th with 3,176 points. His European final opponent, France’s Luka Mkheidze, is ninth with 3,270 points.
In the same weight category, Vazha Margvelashvili is 33rd, while Tornike Gigauri is 32nd.
In the -73 kg division, European champion Lasha Shavdatuashvili has moved up eight places to 11th with 2,230 points. Mikheil Bakhbakhashvili has climbed 11 places to 51st with 828 points.
