Elina Valtonen: Finland strongly supports Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity

Elina Valtonen, the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office and Finland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, visited the occupation line alongside the EU Monitoring Mission (EUMM).

In a social media post, she noted that she had witnessed the “excellent work” of the EU Monitoring Mission (EUMM) in maintaining stability on the ground for the benefit of local communities.

“Today, I witnessed the excellent work of the EU Monitoring Mission in maintaining stability on the ground for the benefit of local communities,” Valtonen said.

She emphasized that the OSCE, along with its Special Representative Christoph Späth, cooperates closely with the mission to support this vital work.

“The OSCE and our Special Representative Christoph Späth work together with the mission to support this important effort,” she noted.

Valtonen reaffirmed Finland’s and the OSCE’s strong support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders.

“Finland, as the OSCE chair country, strongly supports Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders, as stipulated in the Helsinki Principles,” the Finnish Foreign Minister underscored.
