Elene Khoshtaria, Hunger Strike Day 13: I Agreed to a Transfusion

Elene Khoshtaria, leader of “Droa,” who has been on hunger strike for 13 days demanding the transfer of former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili to a civilian clinic, stated she has agreed to a transfusion at this stage.

“Yesterday, the doctor said my health has gotten a little worse and told me that toxification had begun in my body and if at this stage I do not do regular transfusions (medicated and not food, this is out of the question), the kidneys will not be able to withstand it. I was offered hospitalization, I refused.

“Therefore, I agreed to transfusions at this point. When the risk of kidney failure is removed, I will stop transfusions. I feel good. I have a great attitude, there was not a second that I was tormented. Good luck to my friends at the rally today!

“Take Saakashvili to the clinic! I’m not going to stop! ” writes Khoshtaria.
