The de facto authorities in occupied Abkhazia have declared a drone threat alert, the region’s de facto Ministry of Defense said.
The de facto ministry said the airspace is being monitored by air defense (PVO) forces and on-duty military units. However, residents have been urged to leave open areas, warn those around them about the potential danger, avoid remaining within the direct line of sight of unmanned aerial vehicles, and refrain from attempting to shoot down drones themselves.
In early June, Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed that Ukrainian drones had been shot down over occupied Abkhazia during what it described as a large-scale drone attack targeting Russian territory.
