A construction worker was killed after a structure collapsed at a residential building site in Kutaisi, trapping him beneath the debris.
Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs said an investigation has been launched under Article 240 of the Criminal Code, which concerns violations of safety regulations during mining, construction or other types of work.
The incident was first reported by local outlet Kutaisi Post. Based on the publication, the accident occurred on Ioseliani Street, where an iron structure collapsed while concrete was being poured at the construction site.
Kutaisi Post reported that the residential complex is being built by the construction company Maudi Residence.
