Charter Calls on the Authorities to Protect the Safety of Journalists

The Georgian Charter of Journalistic Ethics has issued a statement calling on the authorities to protect the safety of journalists.

“The Georgian Charter of Journalistic Ethics condemns the violence against Vakho Sanaia and his family members, and believes that the incident should be investigated quickly and effectively.

The Charter calls on the authorities to protect the safety of journalists.

The Charter of Journalistic Ethics has repeatedly stated that the aggressive rhetoric of government officials towards the media had a negative impact on the safety of journalists.

“The Charter calls on the authorities to stop talking about restrictions on freedom of thought, speech, and expression, to uphold media freedom, and to refrain from attacking members of the media through their own aggressive attitudes,” says the statement.
