Georgia’s Central Election Commission (CEC) rejected President Salome Zurabishvili’s and other reputable international organizations’ claims regarding allegations of fraudulent parliamentary elections, stating they were ‘inciting public mistrust with unfounded, misleading claims’ in their post-election speeches and interviews. In particular, President Zurabishvili argued that the ruling party had wrongly used citizens’ identification cards, registering them multiple times.
In contrast, the CEC responded by claiming that the elections were facilitated ‘professionally’, as confirmed by international observers and OSCE/ODIHR. The institution emphasized that Pro V&V, an American audit firm, approved the accuracy of digital voting technology, verifying that each voter was registered only once on the list, with no risk of duplication.
