The Secretary General of the OSCE, Feridun Sinirlioğlu, met with officials at Georgia’s Central Election Commission (CEC) during his official visit to the country. The meeting was also attended by Georgia’s Ambassador to Austria Aleksandre Maisuradze, OSCE Special Representative Terhi Hakala, and CPC Director Catherine Fearon.

CEC Chairman Giorgi Kalandarishvili and Deputy Chairman Giorgi Sharabidze discussed Sinirlioğlu and his delegation on Georgia’s recent election-related developments and preparations for the upcoming municipal elections scheduled for October 4.

“The CEC is working to introduce large-scale electronic technologies and ensure a transparent and professional election process in line with international standards,” said Kalandarishvili.

The parties also discussed the implementation of OSCE/ODIHR recommendations and emphasized the importance of continued collaboration to strengthen election processes. Challenges facing Georgia’s election administration were disclosed, along with legal, logistical, and technical efforts to improve future elections.
