Gakharia: It was unacceptable when two radical parties attributed the country’s achievements with the names of their leaders

To me, it was absolutely unacceptable and incomprehensible when two radical parties – one in power and the other in the radical opposition, connecting the country’s attributed with the names of their leaders – no one remembered Antsukhelidze, Ginturi, Tatunashvili, Otkhozoria, former Prime Minister, leader of the For Georgia party Giorgi Gakharia said.

He claimed that getting the status of a candidate country of the European Union for Georgia is the merit of the people who sacrificed their lives for it in the last 30 years.

“It was absolutely unacceptable and incomprehensible to me when two radical parties – one in the government and the other in the radical opposition – first of all attributed the country’s achievements with the names of their leaders. It was absolutely unacceptable when the National Movement says that it is thanks to Mikheil Saakashvili that Georgia got the status of the European Union, or when the Dream does the same with their leader.. No one remembered Antsukhelidze, Ginturi, no one at all, those people who gave their lives in the last 30 years so that the country could become a member of the European Union with dignity. They don’t remember this, they didn’t remember Tatunashvili, Otkhozoria, instead they remembered their leaders,” said Giorgi Gakharia in a video address.
