NCDC Head: We’re Back in the Red Zone, Wearing Masks Outdoors Should Be Reintroduced

“The studying at schools is expected to start remotely,” stated Amiran Gamkrelidze, director of the National Center for Disease Control.

“I think the Ministry of Education will discuss this issue and study will start remotely. The Centers for Disease Control recommends that until the positive rate drops below 4%, we have 9.43 percent today, 80% of administrative staff and teachers will not be vaccinated at school, we cannot consider schools as safe, so it is advisable to vaccinate them and improve the overall epidemiologic situation. In this case, of course, the topic of school attendance will be discussed,” Gamkrelidze said.

He noted that he thinks the same about universities, adding not only professors but also students should be vaccinated.
