On October 31, the third edition of eCommerce Day Georgia was held in Tbilisi, bringing together local and international experts, technology companies, and representatives of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to explore trends, innovations, and best practices in electronic commerce. The annual event, organized by the eCommerce Association Georgia, has quickly become a cornerstone for learning and collaboration in the country’s growing e-commerce sector.
Founded in 2020, the eCommerce Association Georgia is a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening the local e-commerce ecosystem. Its mission includes promoting collaboration between businesses, fostering knowledge exchange, and encouraging the adoption of digital tools and technologies that drive growth. Over the past few years, the Association has worked closely with global tech companies, local enterprises, and government agencies to create an environment where Georgian businesses can compete on both regional and international levels.
Organized with the support of the Bank of Georgia, the conference attracted around 400 participants, including entrepreneurs, managers, IT professionals, and policymakers. The event offered an educational platform where attendees could learn from both theoretical insights and practical case studies. Speakers from leading international tech companies—including Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, and Amadeus—shared expertise on a range of topics critical to modern e-commerce, such as artificial intelligence applications, live and social commerce, and the development of online service platforms.
By incorporating sessions on these subjects, the event served as a live educational forum, helping businesses understand how emerging technologies can optimize operations, improve customer experience, and expand market reach. The presence of SMEs alongside global corporations created opportunities for mentorship, networking, and knowledge transfer—key ingredients for sustainable growth in the digital economy.
Lado Kandelaki, Chairman of the eCommerce Association Georgia, emphasized the broader purpose of the event:
“eCommerce Day is not just a one-day conference; it is a platform for new opportunities, connecting local businesses with global e-commerce trends. Success today requires not only technology adoption but also smart, strategic management. We are confident that this event will serve as a foundation for both short- and long-term progress.”
The Bank of Georgia highlighted its support for SMEs, framing the conference as an opportunity for participants to gain insight into global best practices, develop strategic partnerships, and strengthen their operational competencies.
The event’s innovation partner was Visa, with additional support from AWS, Google Cloud, Glovo, Acer, and Wolt. These partnerships underscored the event’s educational dimension, demonstrating how collaboration with leading technology providers can offer practical guidance for businesses navigating the fast-evolving e-commerce landscape.
