Georgia experiences 7% growth in international visitors in Q3 2025

The National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat) reports that Georgia’s tourism sector continued recovery in the third quarter of 2025, welcoming 3 million international arrivals, up 6.6% compared to the same period last year.

Of the total arrivals, 2.5 million visits were made by international visitors, a 6.8% year-on-year increase, while the number of international visitors reached 2.2 million — 7.6% growth.

Tourist-type visits, which involve at least one overnight stay, rose 9% year-over-year to 2 million, accounting for the majority of total visits. 80.8% of visitors were tourists, while 15.4% were same-day visitors and 3.8% fell into both categories.

The data shows that visitors aged 31 to 50 years made up the largest share of arrivals (45.4%) while women accounted for 48.2% of total visitors.

The Russian Federation remained the top source market with 567,100 visitors (26.1% of the total), followed by Turkey (16.5%) and Armenia (11.8%). In terms of total visits, the same three countries led with Russia (664,600 visits), Turkey (430,000) and Armenia (329,300).

Most travelers came for holiday and leisure purposes (58.7%), with the majority visiting Tbilisi and the Adjara Autonomous Republic which hosted 1.3 million and 1.27 million visitors respectively. The average length of stay increased slightly to 6.3 nights, while 73.3% of trips were repeat visits. Visitor spending also saw a significant increase. Total expenditures reached GEL 6.2 billion during the quarter, up 8.6%from a year earlier. The average expenditure per visit climbed to GEL 2,467.5, a 1.7% increase compared to the same period in 2024.
