Vice President of the European Commission for Democracy and Demography, Dubravka Šuica, declared that the EU will not abandon the Georgian people during a European Parliament debate on Georgia. Šuica, representing the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, lauded the Georgian people’s commitment to democracy and EU values.
“We will strengthen our support for civil society and independent media so that they can continue their work during this critical period. We will further improve communication. What we are doing today from this panel is sending a message. We must send a strong message of support and the EU’s unwavering commitment to the Georgian people, while also underlining to the Georgian Dream the cost of their actions,” Šuica declared.
