During today’s briefing, President Salome Zurabishvili touched upon the issue of the Constitutional Court’s inactivity, emphasizing that the institution had yet to call a session. The president encouraged activists, political parties, and legal experts to put pressure on the court. Zurabishvili pointed out the court’s importance in fixing the ‘very deep constitutional crisis.’
“The court and judges have a vital role in bringing back constitutional order’, she said, highlighting that their positive decision could nullify the October 26 election results.
The President submitted a lawsuit to the Constitutional Court on November 19, asking to annul the election results, with the court having 30 days to react as the country waits for the decision.
