UNM leader thanks Davit Kirtadze for courage

Tina Bokuchava, leader of the Unity-National Movement Coalition said that the Chair of the Georgian Election Commission (CEC), Giorgi Kalandarishvili will wash away the liquid but will never wash away the crime committed by rigging the October 26 elections.

At the briefing held at the party office, Tina Bokuchava thanked Davit Kirtadze for his courage.

“Kalandarishvili today washed away the black ink, but will never wash away the crime committed by the rigging of the elections. He will appear before the judiciary but, before that, we warn the regime: sanction Zviad Kharazishvili [head of the riot police] and his murderers.

“Today, Davit Kirtadze said what the entire country wanted to say with the protest act against Kalandarishvili, and any legal or physical retribution or an attack will be an attack on Georgian citizens, from whom Giorgi Kalandarishvili stole the choice on Ivanishvili’s order.

“You should know and understand that society will not forgive you. All of you will be left as a big black blot in Georgia’s latest history. We will achieve new elections, which will be conducted by the election administration and staffed by honest professionals, and Davit Kirtadze will be among them,” she said.

Davit Kirtadze, a member of the Unity-National Movement coalition splattered ink on Giorgi Kalandarishvili, Chairman of the Georgian Election Commission (CEC) during the sitting where CEC was set to endorse the summarizing report of the October 26 parliamentary elections results.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs launched an investigation under Article 118 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which refers to causing less serious body injury to health committed on purpose.
