A number of domestic organizations have reported violations during Georgia’s parliamentary elections.
Nino Dolidze, head of the International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy, declared that 9.1% of polling stations had experienced the following incidents by 2 p.m.:
- Multiple ballot submissions at the 69th polling station in Marneuli;
- A commission member voting twice at the 18th polling station in Ambrolauri;
- Agitation at the 1st polling station in Kaspi, where observers were obstructed from documenting the incident;
- A commission member taking away an observer’s mobile device at the 18th polling station in Ambrolauri;
- Unsatisfactory facilitation at the 3rd and 26th polling stations in Tbilisi, with observers being unable to properly conduct their job;
- Granting of multiple ballots to a single individual.
Notably, the Georgian Young Lawyers Association reported 27 complaints regarding violations at polling stations. Such issues were also present in overseas stations, particularly in Helsinki, Vilnius, and Madrid.
