World Food Day, celebrated in 150 countries worldwide, takes place in Kutaisi with the support of FAO, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, and the Mayor’s Office of Kutaisi. The event is set to take place near the White Bridge from 12:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
The first phase of the celebration will take the form of an agro market, with farmers from across the country presenting their local products. Additionally, visitors will taste traditional Imeretian dishes while children can enjoy entertainment activities designed for them.
The theme of this year’s edition is ‘The Right to Food for a Better Life and a Better Future,’ with the goal of common efforts to ensure food security and create more inclusive, efficient, and sustainable agrosystems.
