Wine producers Askaneli announced on their Facebook page that they have opened a new wine plant in Bakurtsikhe, Gurjaani Municipality.
The facility, equipped with modern technology, can handle up to 16,000 tons of grapes a year.
Askaneli has already started receiving white grapes for processing.
Gocha Chkhaidze, the founder of‘Askaneli, talked about the new factory to Business Week, noting that the goal of the plant is to process 9,000 tons of grapes annually. Although the exact investment amount has not been revealed, Giorgi Darchiashvili, deputy director of corporate banking at TBC, stated that the bank had issued a loan of GEL 50 million from 2023 to 2024.
