Michael Roth: We shouldn’t help “Georgian nightmare” to “modify” the “law on foreign agents”

We should not help the “Georgian nightmare” to “modify” the “law on foreign agents” in order to continue destroying liberal democracy, – this is how the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the German Parliament, Michael Roth, who is visiting Georgia this week, responded to the statement of the president of the European Council, Charles Michel, in which Charles Michel noted that in a telephone conversation with the President and Prime Minister of Georgia, he reiterated his support for finding the best way to resolve the legitimate concerns of the parties.

“What we really need now from the EU and member states is clarity. Let’s listen carefully to the President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, the opposition and the civil society. We should not help the “Georgian nightmare” “modify” the “Foreign Agents Act” to continue destroying liberal democracy,” he wrote on X.
