Tinatin Berdzenishvili has been re-elected as Director General of the Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB) for a second six-year term.
Berdzenishvili was elected with the support of eight members of the broadcaster’s Board of Trustees. She was the only candidate for the position.
Earlier on Wednesday, Berdzenishvili presented her strategic plan for the broadcaster’s next six-year term and answered questions from members of the Board.
She was also the only applicant to advance to the first round of the competition for the post.
Berdzenishvili first became Director General of GPB in 2020 after former director Vasil Maghlaperidze stepped down before the end of his term. Maghlaperidze remained with the public broadcaster following his resignation.
