Georgia exported a record 50.3 tons of vodka to Russia in the first half of 2026, nearly doubling exports compared to the same period last year, Russian state news agency TASS reports.

Data published by Georgia’s National Statistics Office show the exports were worth $695,300. During the first six months of 2025, Georgia exported about half that amount, while total exports to Russia for the whole of 2025 reached 45.3 tons.

The previous first-half record was set in 2024, when exports to Russia totaled 40.7 tons.

Despite the increase, Russia ranked third among the largest importers of Georgian vodka in January-June 2026. Azerbaijan was the biggest buyer with 82.4 tons, followed by Kyrgyzstan with 66.9 tons. Ukraine imported 41.4 tons, Lithuania 31.9 tons, the United States 22.3 tons, Armenia 21.2 tons, and Mongolia 15.6 tons.

TASS also reports that Georgia increased its imports of Russian vodka during the same period. In the first half of 2026, Georgia imported 997.3 tons of vodka from Russia worth $3.4 million.

The volume marks the highest level of Russian vodka imports to Georgia since 2011, when exports from Russia reached 1,300 tons.
