“Paths That Cross” marks the debut solo exhibition of the emerging artist Salome Devadze in Georgia. This showcase unveils her recent works, known as The New York series, crafted during her tenure at Pratt University in America from 2022 to 2023. exhibition is based on Salome Devadze’s undergraduate thesis, on which she started working on in America and developed in Georgia. “Paths That Cross” delves into her diverse experiences across both countries and years of creative exploration.
Devadze’s art is characterized by potent symbolism and a mytho-poetic essence, vividly expressed through striking color variations in mentioned series. These colors, reflective of her profound inner state, brings the viewers into a mysterious, otherworldly realm, bridging the gap between reality and the fantasy.
The compositions on display reflect Devadze’s unique artistic vision, manifesting her aspiration to create a new mythic language through figurative expression. Within her works, biblical, folkloric, personal, and tangible motifs intertwine, each influencing the other. This amalgamation of themes serves as both a critique of contemporary reality, viewed through a social or analytical lens, and as a catalyst for fresh sensory experiences. This field is not a descriptive-analytical layer, but a portal where feelings, thoughts, human and non-human emotions, personal and collective ways endlessly intersect with each other to create a new story, a new history.

The exhibition is open on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with no admission fee.
