Gov’t: Health Minister steps down after conversation with the PM

Minister of Health Zurab Azarashvili has resigned. The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, spoke to the Minister of Health, after which Azarashvili stepped down.

“I was convinced, based on the example of the Republican hospital, that such problems existed,” PM Kobakhidze told journalists. “We had a perfectly healthy conversation about it all, and a decision was made that the Minister of Health would resign.”

The head of the government will introduce the new minister of health in the coming days.
