Paata Imnadze, Deputy Head of the National Center for Disease Control, was the first in Georgia to be vaccinated against coronavirus. He was vaccinated live with the AstraZeneca vaccine. Afterwards, Imnadze said he felt very well.
Georgia has received the first dose of AstraZeneca vaccine, which is intended for doctors.
“Today is an important day in our country, the beginning of the end of the epidemic. The vaccine is the only way for the country to return to normal life,” Imnadze said, urging doctors to get vaccinated.
The medical director of the Infectious Diseases Hospital, Marina Ezugbaia, who also got vaccinated, said: “Immunization is important for the country, the pandemic can be defeated only by immunization when 60-70% of the population of any country is vaccinated to form a layer of immunity. In that case, the infection must be overcome. ”
