“EU membership and the path that Georgia is still taking is a path of courage. It will not be a short and easy way. EU membership cannot be attained on its own. The remarkable social change that takes place as a result of this process is its greatest worth. Not only is legislation evolving, but also institutions, people, and mentalities. Georgia has already shown that it is dedicated to upholding European ideals and that it wants to join the EU. We, in the Croatian Parliament, are sorry that Georgia was not granted candidate status. Do not let this choice make you disappointed. I am looking at things from a positive viewpoint and believe that Georgia will soon be accorded the candidate status,” the Chairman of the European Affairs Committee of the Croatian Parliament, Domagoj Hajduković, stated at the joint session of the EU Integration and Foreign Relations Committees.
The Chair of the Committee once again expressed his support for Georgia’s accession to European structures, as well as for the territorial integrity of our country, and emphasized that Abkhazia and South Ossetia are the integral territories of Georgia.
