School uniforms have arrived in Georgia, the Educational Resources LLC has announced.
The company said the initial supply is sufficient to provide school uniforms to all first-graders across the country.
“The uniforms are currently being stored, and their distribution to major cities and regions will begin in the coming days.” ,- the company said. “The public will soon be informed about the locations where school uniform sales points will open in different cities and regions. School uniforms for first-graders will be sold nationwide from September 1 through September 14. For second- to sixth-graders, school uniforms will be delivered in two stages, on October 15 and November 30”.
School uniforms will be available for purchase at designated sales points and online via the website. Payment for school uniforms will be made exclusively by cashless payment. Payments by bank card will be available at physical sales points. School uniforms can be exchanged or returned within 14 calendar days of receipt or purchase. To do so, parents must present the relevant receipt.
The uniforms will be provided free of charge to:
- Primary school students at public schools who are registered in the Unified Database of Socially Vulnerable Families and whose families have a rating score of less than 65,001.
- Students under state care, including those enrolled in the state foster care program, placed in small family-type homes, receiving services at shelters for homeless children, or placed in the Tbilisi Children’s Home.
- Students who, as a result of the hostilities that began in Ukraine on February 24, 2022, are unable to continue their general education at Ukrainian general education institutions and are enrolled in Georgian public schools.
