A worker died after falling from a construction site on Aleksandre Chavchavadze Street in Tbilisi. The young man died at the scene.
Police have launched an investigation under Article 240 of the Criminal Code, which concerns violations of safety rules during mining, construction or other work.
The Labor Inspection Service’s 2025 report recorded 32 workplace fatalities and 179 injuries during the year. Construction sites accounted for 21 of the deaths.
The report says all 32 workers killed were men. Of the 179 non-fatal accidents, 72 were classified as serious, resulting in permanent disability, severe health damage or temporary incapacity lasting more than 40 days, while the remaining 107 were classified as medium-severity.
The report also documented one mass workplace accident in 2025, in which four employees of a single organization were killed and another was seriously injured.
