Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s ruling Civil Contract party is leading in the first results from Sunday’s parliamentary election.

With nearly 20,000 ballots counted — about 1.3% of the total vote — Civil Contract has received 57% of the vote. The ‘Strong Armenia’ alliance follows with 21%, while the ‘Armenia’ Alliance has 8% and ‘Prosperous Armenia’ 5%.

Pashinyan’s Chief of Staff, Arayik Harutyunyan, told Factor TV that based on preliminary results from 6% to 7% of polling stations, Civil Contract is receiving around 65% of the vote.

Early results shared by Tavush Governor Hayk Ghalumyan show Civil Contract winning in the village of Kirants with 55% of the vote. ‘Strong Armenia’ received 15%, the ‘Armenia’ Alliance 10%, and ‘Prosperous Armenia’ 2%.

Polling stations across Armenia closed at 8:00 p.m. local time after a day of voting in the country’s parliamentary elections. Final turnout reached 58.97%, significantly higher than the 47% recorded in the 2021 snap election and close to the 60.86% turnout seen in 2017, the highest on record.
