The opposition Armenia Alliance says it has recorded a number of violations, including cases of open voting and direct or controlled voting, which it says have been reported to the authorities. The alliance also alleges misuse of administrative resources and refers to reports of arrests throughout the day as ‘informational terror’.
The alliance says two of its affiliates were detained in Debetavan in the Tavush region. It claims that one of them was formally charged, though it did not specify the charges, while the other was later released.
Armenia is holding parliamentary elections on June 7, with authorities reporting multiple investigations into alleged election violations, including voter bribery and misuse of administrative resources. Throughout election day, law enforcement has carried out a series of detentions and searches in different regions, targeting individuals and political groups suspected of electoral offenses.
