Average monthly salary in Georgia’s business sector stood at 2,336 GEL in the first quarter of 2026, up by 166 GEL compared to the same period in 2025, the National Statistics Office of Georgia says.
Geostat data shows salaries varied by enterprise size, with large businesses paying an average of 2,513.5 GEL, medium businesses 2,786.5 GEL, and small businesses 1,787.2 GEL.
Total employment in the business sector reached 743,700 people in Q1, up 3.5% year-on-year. Total personnel costs rose by 11% to 5.319 billion GEL.
Trade, manufacturing, and healthcare and social services remained the leading sectors in terms of employment.
Business sector turnover increased by almost 11% to 62 billion GEL, with large businesses accounting for 71% of the total.
Geostat says arts, entertainment and recreation dominated turnover with a 37% share, followed by trade at 31.4% and manufacturing at 7.4%.
Business sector output reached 23.3 billion GEL, marking a 12% annual increase. Manufacturing, trade, construction, information and communication, and transport and storage were the leading sectors in output.
