Prior to the EU Foreign Ministers’ meeting in Luxembourg, Georgia’s President Salome Zurabishvili addressed each minister individually with a letter pointing out what she described as “the ongoing events in Georgia and the sharp developments in recent political processes.”
The President’s press service stated that the letter emphasized the ‘threats facing Georgia’s democratic future and its European path’, urging EU leaders to adopt a ‘consistent and effective policy’ toward Russia’s hybrid actions, which she said endanger not only Georgia but Europe as a whole.
“The President calls on EU leaders to develop a consistent and effective policy in response to Russia’s hybrid war, which poses a threat not only to Georgia but to Europe as a whole,” the statement read.
