Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has arrived in the United States, where he is scheduled to meet President Donald Trump and members of his administration at the White House.
Following his arrival, Zelensky said on social media that he also plans to meet with individuals who can help strengthen Ukraine’s defense. He identified anti-ballistic missile defense and strategic cooperation with the United States as the top priorities of his visit.
During his trip, the Ukrainian president will also pay tribute to the late Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, a staunch supporter of Ukraine, who died on July 11.
White House, cited by CNN, announced that Trump and Zelensky are expected to discuss the peace process, stressing that the time has come to end the war.
The two leaders last met on July 8 on the sidelines of the NATO Summit in Ankara, Turkey.
Zelensky traveled to Washington from the United Kingdom, where he met newly appointed British Prime Minister Andy Burnham the previous day.
The Hill reported that Zelensky is also expected to hold meetings with US senators during his visit.
US-led negotiations involving Ukraine and Russia on conditions for ending the war began in January 2026. Three rounds of talks have been held so far — the first two in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and the third in Geneva, Switzerland.
