US Senators Jeanne Shaheen and Rob Portman arrived at the occupation line, the EU Delegation to Georgia reports.
Near the administrative boundary line with South Ossetia, the senators were met by Marek Szczygiel, the head of the EU Monitoring Mission in Georgia.
Shaheen and Portman also visited the village of Zemo Nikozi, where they were briefed on the security situation on the ground with an emphasis on the Russian borderization – barbed wires, surveillance checkpoints and “border signs.”
