The Chairperson of the United National Movement, Tina Bokuchava, together with the party’s Political Secretary, Giorgi Baramidze, held meetings with Moldovan President Maia Sandu and Foreign Minister Mihai Popșoi, the party announced.
The talks coincided with Moldova’s Independence Day celebrations in Chișinău, attended by key European leaders — French President Emmanuel Macron, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz — who reaffirmed the EU’s strong support for Moldova’s path to European integration.
Following the meetings, Bokuchava emphasized the importance of strengthening Georgia’s presence on the international stage to prevent the country from being sidelined in Europe’s political agenda.
“Today, Ivanishvili’s criminal gang is depriving us of this opportunity, while in Europe they are waiting for us. The Georgian people are waiting too, and this chance is within our reach,” Bokuchava stated. “That is why we must redouble our efforts on the foreign front and at home. By synchronizing these processes, we can achieve regime change and bring Georgia back on the path of European integration.”
The UNM leadership stressed that Moldova’s progress demonstrates that EU accession remains realistic for Georgia — provided the country re-engages actively with its European partners.
