Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) has confirmed carrying out drone strikes on oil infrastructure and transport facilities in Russia’s Krasnodar and Stavropol regions as part of efforts to weaken Russia’s military and economic capabilities.
The SBU says Ukrainian drones struck three fuel storage tanks, a warehouse at the rail cargo terminal, and two vehicle ferries at Port Kavkaz in Russia’s Krasnodar region. Another strike targeted the tank farm at an oil storage facility near the settlement of Vyazniki in the Stavropol region.
Russian and Ukrainian media reported the attacks earlier on July 13, but Russian authorities have not commented on the specific targets identified by Ukraine.
The SBU also said Ukrainian drones struck two Russian patrol boats in the Black Sea overnight, as well as hangars at the Bagerovo air base in occupied Crimea, three fixed radar stations, and two vehicle ferries.
Ukraine has intensified long-range strikes on Russian military facilities, oil refineries, fuel terminals, and transport infrastructure in Russia and occupied Crimea, saying the attacks are aimed at reducing Moscow’s ability to sustain its war. Russia, meanwhile, describes the strikes as “terrorist attacks.”
