British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron announced plans to send a joint military delegation to Ukraine after a security summit in Paris. The delegation will work alongside Ukraine’s armed forces to support future strategic cooperation.
“Now is not the time to lift sanctions on Russia—on the contrary, we discussed ways to increase them to support the U.S. proposal for greater pressure to bring Russia to the negotiating table,” Starmer stated.
Macron confirmed France and the UK’s commitment to Ukraine’s defense, saying, “A delegation of British and French military officials will travel to Ukraine to help shape the future of its armed forces.”
The summit emphasized continued Western support for Ukraine as it faces ongoing Russian aggression.
