Having previously lost 3:2 to Turkey in Tbilisi, Georgia entered the match needing a victory to secure second place in the group and keep its qualification hopes alive. However, the Turkish side dominated throughout and claimed a convincing win on home soil.
In another Group fixture, Spain defeated Bulgaria 4:0 in Madrid, maintaining a perfect record with four wins from four matches and solidifying their position at the top of the standings.
Turkey remains second with three victories, a position that can no longer be overtaken in the remaining two rounds. After four matches, Georgia sits third with one win, while Bulgaria is bottom of the group with four straight losses.
